After Installing XP Service Pack, I had a minor issue. Yet I am not sure if it did cause to be honest.
Graphic Lag Issues
Whilst playing 3d games, your graphics regularly runs smoothly then suddenly lags then runs smoothly again. This happens periodically during game play.
You have also optimized your machine to the best you can. That is you have defragged the drive, removed any unwanted start up programs and regularly run an XP maintence tool like "System Mechanic 7".
Resolution
It might be wise to reinstall your graphics card driver over the top. Hopefully it will reset any corrupt files.
